Downloading PuTTY[edit]

PuTTY can be requested via the IT Helpdesk software catalogue.

PuTTY Configuration[edit]

The Host name or IP address will vary dependent on the application being accessed.

For example, to investigate gateway server issues, the host name / IP address to be entered is gateway.tms-uk-rail.co.uk

The different host names and associated passwords for the different servers can be found in the Master Credentials List.

PuTTY Commands[edit]

  • You can click the up arrow repeatedly to see recent text commands. Pressing enter then re-enters this selected command.
  • Ctrl + C stops a logging output e.g. quits Glances.
  • Typing clear clears the command.
  • Typing exit closes PuTTY.
