Forecast - what is it?
In acumen parlance, the Forecast is a service which runs within the application with the sole purpose of aggregating numerous sources of information and extrapolating this against a train service schedule; the net result is a forecast of a train service schedule that reflects all known conditions and one which has a high degree of accuracy.
Items that acumen uses to produce the forecast are:
- Current reported position and any lateness;
- Any overdue reports;
- Activity times provided in the schedule and minimum activity times specified within Timetable Planning Rules (TPR);
- Association lateness;
- Minimum turnaround times, where relevant;
- Timetable allowances provided within the train service schedule;
- Timetabled sectional running times;
- Any replan activity.
